This city holds a past that neither of you recognizes. Which story will you believe? The innkeeper says the two of you stayed in the same room last year. Accept that visit as part of your past, and a memory surfaces where there was none before. The feel of rain on your skin. Kairen scolding you for leaving your umbrella behind. She remembers it, too.
