Over Starwrit
Take the Writ. Win the sky. Bring them back alive.
Skim a dusk canyon at full boost with Vreen fighters on your six. Tear a 320-metre Hive-Carrier apart node by node, then run down the broker who owns it and haul his ship in on your tractor beam. Alive.
Starwrit is fast, cinematic 3D space combat with a bounty contract behind every sortie and a fully voiced cast.
Writ I: The Hollow Broker
Skarr Vel'Qhan: broker, slaver, thief. The Ledger, the galaxy's bounty guild, wants him alive.
Win the sky
Low-level dogfights over the dusk deserts of Zhar-7: fly the canyon floor to cut the turret line on its rims, then stop the Stalker Walkers before they reach a crashed relief transport.
Bring down the Hive-Carrier
Its hull shrugs off your guns, so burst its six plasma nodes to crack it open, then finish the core while its fighters come for you.
Run down the Broker
The target bolts in the Tollwing, his moth-winged ship, and offers you double the bounty to go home. Turn him down, survive his tricks, break his drive and lock your tractor beam on: he goes into the pod alive, for the full bounty.
Every hunt starts in the Roost
You fly as Captain Kade Varro, the navy ace discharged for refusing to bomb a refugee convoy. His creed: alive when possible, paid always, never break a writ. Read the dossier in his cliff hangar, take the briefing, then launch to orbit and through a Slipgate, all in-engine.
Build your hangar
- Five ships: start in the Kestrel, then earn the Bastion's front plating, the Nightjar's cloak, the Starling's four-target missile lock and the Sovereign's Hunter's Mark.
- Manoeuvres that grow with your hangar: the Bastion side-slips and barrel-rolls, the Nightjar adds the split-S and the afterburner dash, the Starling the Immelmann and the hover-brake, and the Sovereign flies them all, plus the kulbit.
- 27 ship weapons, from rail cannons and flak to torpedoes and drones.
- Five upgrade tracks on every ship, ten levels each.
- Five suits for the Captain to collect in the Suit Locker.
Hunt it again
- Five Heat levels, from Cold Trail to Wildfire. A bigger bounty is a harder hunt.
- Replays that pay in Credits and Hunter Rank, whole or one stage at a time.
- Daily and weekly Ledger challenges from Hunter Rank 3.
- 29 in-game achievements, none of them a grind.
- Arcade: endless waves over Zhar-7, with the Hive-Carrier on every fifth.
- Online score and Arcade leaderboards, split by ship, so a bigger ship never pushes a Kestrel pilot down.
- Keyboard and mouse, or a gamepad, with sized subtitles and colour-blind markers.
