BUILD THE MAZE. FIGHT INSIDE IT Eternal Rift Defense is a 3D tower defense RPG where you fight alongside the defenses you build. Shape enemy paths with walls, construct towers throughout your maze, and use your hero's abilities to hold the line. Battle through 50 rifts solo or with up to four players, level your towers from the battlefield, hunt powerful gear sets, and specialize your defender through heroes, talents, pets, and upgrades. You aren't watching the battle from above. You're fighting inside the defense BUILD THE MAZE Walls aren't just barriers, they're part of your build. Create winding paths, force enemies over traps, through kill zones, and decide where each tower will have the greatest impact. Towers built on your walls cost less, tying the shape of your maze directly to the shape of your defense. Build with twelve different defenses covering damage, control, economy, and support: - Arrow reliable damage against ground and air. - Cannon devastating splash damage at close range. - Wizard specializes in destroying airborne enemies. - Coin powerful single-target true damage. - Ice slows advancing enemies. - Tesla stuns enemies before they can break through. - Poison delivers powerful critical strikes. - Fire scales into devastating area damage. - Support strengthens nearby towers. - Research generates technology for your defense. - Mine generates consistent gold income to build towers. - Wall controls where the enemy is allowed to go. STAND ON YOUR TOWERS TO LEVEL THEM Your hero is part of the defense that has two unique abilities. Towers level up during each rift, and one of the fastest ways to power them is to physically stand on them. Your hero and slotted pet pour experience into the tower beneath you while the battle continues around you. Stay on your strongest tower and push its power even higher or abandon it to reinforce another part of the maze before the next wave breaks through. FOUR HEROES. FOUR WAYS TO DEFEND Choose from four heroes with different stats, abilities, and ways of supporting your defense. Knight a durable frontline defender who can slow every enemy on the battlefield and salvage valuable resources. Archer a fast-moving damage specialist who marks enemies and areas of the battlefield to dramatically increase incoming damage. Engineer manipulates the defense itself, creating walls and even swapping the positions of two towers in the middle of a wave. Mage teleports across the battlefield and channels experience directly into towers that need an immediate power boost. Your abilities don't stay static. Complete your hero's gear set and those abilities begin evolving into stronger versions with new effects. DEFEND ALONE OR WITH UP TO FOUR PLAYERS Every rift can be played solo or cooperatively with up to four players. Split responsibilities across the battlefield, specialize different heroes and tower builds, reinforce collapsing lanes, and combine abilities when the waves become overwhelming. A defense that works alone can play completely differently when four heroes are fighting inside it. HUNT GEAR. BUILD YOUR DEFENDER Every enemy type has its own gear set to hunt. Gear drops across increasing rarity tiers and continues growing after you find it. Level your equipment to unlock additional affixes and turn an early-game drop into something far more powerful. Feeling lucky? Spend a Cursed Shard to force an additional affix onto an item. The result may not be what you expected. Complete matching gear sets to unlock: • Persistent bonuses you carry into every rift. • Stronger versions of your hero's abilities. • Increasingly powerful visual auras that show other players how far you've progressed. If you're missing one piece of a set, you know exactly which enemy you need to hunt. CREATE YOUR BUILD Three talent trees let you decide what kind of defender you want to become: Support. Specialist. Resource. Invest in economy and your walls become cheaper, waves become more profitable, and the gold you pickup is worth more. Focus on combat and projectiles pierce enemies, fire spreads farther, ice becomes more dangerous, and your towers hit harder. Go deep enough and talents stop simply increasing numbers and begin changing the rules, unlocking new towers and even allowing unique gameplay tactics. 50 RIFTS ACROSS FIVE WORLDS Fight across 25 battlefields, each with two different challenges for a total of 50 rifts. Begin on open farmland defending a single portal and eventually face four portals at once in burning ruins. Along the way you'll defend: • Vine-covered jungle temples. • Desert strongholds. • Frozen mountain passes. • Burning kingdoms. • And the lands closest to Vaelgrym's invasion. Over twenty enemy types pour through the portals, from goblins, skeletons, orcs, and bears to liches, minotaurs, gyrocopters, and catapults. Different enemies force different defenses. Adapt your maze, towers, hero, and upgrades before they find the weakness in your build. DAILY & WEEKLY RIFTS Two endless challenges run alongside the main game. Daily and Weekly Rifts roll new hazards and challenge you to survive as many waves as possible. Push farther, climb the leaderboards, and earn rewards you won't find in the normal campaign. SEND THE HORDE AT ANOTHER PLAYER Seasonal Arena turns tower defense into a ranked 1v1 battle. Both players build their own defenses but instead of directly attacking each other, you spend resources to summon enemies into your opponent's rift. Upgrade the monsters you send. Increase the pressure. Drop a boss when their defense is already struggling. Break their castle before they break yours. Complete your placement matches and climb through Bronze, Silver, Gold, Platinum, and Diamond across seasonal ladders. And you bring the character you've actually built. The equipment and progression you earned in the rifts comes with you into the Arena. A SHARED WORLD BETWEEN THE RIFTS Between battles, return to a persistent shared overworld populated by other defenders. Meet players, form parties, join guilds, use world chat, visit vendors, accept quests, and prepare for the next rift. Link Discord and parties can automatically communicate through real Discord voice, including noise suppression, individual volume controls, and mute without needing to create a separate voice channel first. When it's time to fight, enter a rift alone or bring your party with you. ONE LIFE. FOREVER Want something more dangerous? Create a Hardcore multiplayer character and the rules change permanently. That hero gets one life per rift. Lose a portal level and the character disappears from the online world along with their leaderboard position, guild membership, multiplayer progression, and everything else they accomplished. Survive every rift and your hero emerges Cooked: permanently empowered, permanently marked, and finally eligible to enter the Arena. There is no second attempt. COSMETICS ONLY The in-game store sells cosmetic items. Nothing purchased from the store makes your towers stronger, improves your gear rolls, or increases your combat power. Power comes from playing the game not from your wallet [ENDGAME] 10-PLAYER RAID The war against Vaelgrym won't end with the campaign. 10-player raid where groups of defenders join forces against massive superboss encounters including a raid to bring down a dragon. THE RIFTS ARE STILL OPEN The moon bled. Then the Cinder King came down from the mountains. Vaelgrym's flames consumed the forests, then the kingdoms, then the city itself. When there was nothing left standing to burn, he tore open rifts between worlds and called his legions through them. The rifts are still open. The moon is still bleeding. And the defenders willing to enter them are all that stand in his way. OR PLAY COMPLETELY OFFLINE Prefer to play alone? Single-player characters can run the entire game locally. No account. No internet connection. No cloud requirement.
