WRITE YOUR ACTIONS Most games ask you to choose from actions someone has already imagined for you. Unwritten doesn't. Write what you want to do. Follow the obvious path, ignore it, question someone, lie, investigate something that looks irrelevant, or attempt something the game never explicitly offered. The game interprets your intent and the world responds. YOUR ACTIONS SHAPE THE STORY Unwritten is not an empty AI sandbox. There is a world to explore, a story to uncover, events to encounter and rules governing what can — and cannot — happen. AI allows the game to react to actions that were never individually scripted, while keeping them grounded in that world. You are not generating the story from nothing. You are finding your own way through it. FIGURE OUT HOW THIS WORLD WORKS You begin knowing very little. Pay attention. Experiment. Make assumptions. Test them. Some actions will work exactly as expected. Some won't. Others may reveal something you weren't supposed to notice yet. Understanding the world — and its boundaries — is part of the experience.
