Technically a first-person shooter (it's in first person and you shoot things), The Corruption is in feel really a bit more like a liminal or backrooms game, except that you usually also have a grenade launcher to fight zombie-like enemies, instead of always running. Expect crumbling megastructures, bouts of intense combat, unexplained stories, some puzzling and platforming, sometimes meandering maps, and a little glitched Beethoven on your way to four possible endings. Uncover what remains through the messages left for you by those few processes that still survive in the data, while exploring surreal spaces inspired by backrooms, vaporwave and De Chirico. Destroy Fight fast-moving zealots and tanky partisans with traps, the Process Termination Grenade Launcher, and well-timed cascading explosions that rip through corrupted structures. But beware, sometimes the system may take away your Process Termination Grenade Launcher, leaving you with only to your wits to escape. Ascend It was supposed to be a digital sanctuary.
