About the Game A BRUTAL GAME OF CHESS — WITH ASSAULT RIFLES Challenge a friend to a tense tactical showdown where you have all the time you need to think — but very little room for mistakes. Plan your moves, set ambushes and try to predict your opponent, but you can never control everything happening on the battlefield. A breached wall, an unseen enemy or a single failed attack can turn a perfect plan into a disaster. Adapt, take calculated risks and stay one step ahead. Randomized starting positions and destructible environments ensure that no two matches play out the same way. RESHAPE THE BATTLEFIELD Use fully destructible environments to your advantage. Blast through doors and walls to create entirely new routes through the map. Destroy enemy cover, open unexpected firing lines and turn fortified positions into death traps. The battlefield changes throughout the match. A position that was safe one turn may be completely exposed the next. Sometimes the best way into a room isn't through the door. TURN-BASED COMBAT WITH TEETH Every turn forces you to make choices. Do you hold your position, advance, attack or spend your limited actions preparing for what comes next? Cover, firing angles, enemy positions and the tools at your disposal determine who survives when the shooting starts. Your equipment can completely change a situation: - Frag grenades destroy cover and force enemies out of strong positions. - Smoke grenades conceal movement, block enemy vision and hide your intentions. - Flashbangs disrupt ambushes and reduce the effectiveness of enemies caught in the blast. - Explosives can trap doors, breach walls and create entirely new attack routes and firing lines. Time is your most valuable resource. Every action costs time, and you only have so much of it each turn. Choosing what to do — and what to leave undone — can decide the outcome of a firefight. WHAT YOU DON'T SEE CAN KILL YOU Information is just as important as firepower. Control what your opponent can see while denying them information about your own movements. An enemy slipping unnoticed around your flank can turn a certain victory into a massacre. Watch your angles. Protect your squad. Never assume an area is safe just because you cannot see anyone there. BUILD YOUR SQUAD Every class has its own strengths, weaknesses and battlefield role. A strong squad is not simply a collection of powerful units. Classes complement each other, cover each other's weaknesses and create opportunities that would be impossible for a single soldier. Example: BREACHER The Breacher specializes in creating opportunities. Detect enemies behind closed doors, gather information before committing to an attack and use explosives to tear new entrances through walls. A Breacher can turn an apparently secure enemy position into an exposed one in a single action. They are invaluable for reconnaissance and for creating routes your opponent never expected you to use. SHOTGUNNER The Shotgunner dominates at close range. Get them into the right position and they can put enemies down extremely quickly, making them particularly dangerous when flanking or fighting inside buildings. Their short effective range is also their greatest weakness. Caught in the open or forced into a long-range firefight, a Shotgunner is at a serious disadvantage. Use the rest of your squad to help them close the distance — then let them do what they do best. PREPARE FOR THE REAL FIGHT Take command of your squad in single-player operations against the criminal forces controlling the city. Learn how to move your squad, use cover, breach buildings, control firing lines, deploy tactical equipment and coordinate different classes. The single-player campaign teaches you the systems and tactics you will need before putting those skills to the real test against another player. Clear the streets, learn your tools and prepare yourself. Because human opponents don't follow scripts. They wait for you in our Discord community.
