Note Defender: A Sight Reading Arcade

This game will teach you how to read notes in music notation Learn to read musical notes as you battle waves of incoming squares! Progress through increasingly difficult levels by identifying notes as A, B, C, D, E, F, or G. You will memorize notes 9 Ledger lines above and below the staffs. This covers every key of a standard 88 key Piano and most instruments. As you advance, enemies will become tougher, and the questions will become more challenging. Ledger lines will appear, introducing notes above and below the staff. Eventually, either the treble or bass staff will disappear, challenging you to recognize notes without relying on both staffs. These concepts are especially useful when learning to read music for instruments such as the guitar, where music is typically written on a single staff. Player Powers 1. Green Laser Correct notes fire a green laser at incoming enemy squares! 2. Red Laser Five correct notes in a row will fire a powerful red laser that deals double damage! 3. Blue Note When a blue note appears, answer correctly to fire a devastating blue laser that destroys every enemy on the screen, regardless of how much health they have! 4. Green Note — Restore Health Running low on health? When a green note appears, answer correctly to restore one health point! More Information: This game does not currently teach sharps and flats as they would be of no use in the current gameplay without an instrument mode - having you for example push the black keys on a piano. Sharps, flats and many other music concepts are being considered in an additional instrument mode that may possibly be developed in the future.
