A Passion Project for History Enthusiasts Lines of Battle began as the vision of a single developer, inspired by watching the 1970 film Waterloo hundreds of times. The goal was simple: to distill the grand, cinematic feeling of Napoleonic warfare into a deep yet accessible strategy game. Today, that vision has evolved into a rich, competitive wargame supported by a dedicated community of mapmakers, historical consultants, and artists.
