Fear of the Light

Fear of the Light is a stealth-based survival horror game where light is scarier than darkness and where surveying monsters keep you on edge. You’re the lone survivor on a spaceship infested by moths and other dangerous creatures. Explore the ship, override quarantine lockdowns, and find a way to escape. Use your radar and other tools to avoid enemies, keep out of the light, sneak around dangers, and find your way forward. But be careful, monsters are lurking around, searching for you, and are aware of your every mistake! Key features - 20-45 min of playtime - Horror twist where light is more dangerous than darkness - Intelligent monsters - Handheld radar, heat visor, and EMP - Diegetic UI tools and terminals Background The first version of this game was made in seven weeks with a core team of ten members for a course at Futuregames Stockholm and Karlstad. The team continued working on the game afterward, eventually leading to a nomination for Best Design at the Swedish Game Awards and the Steam release. The game is made in Unreal Engine 5 and almost all the assets aside were created from scratch by the team.
