About EMBERBOUND The story takes place during one summer in Andu, a quiet town in southern China. After a change in his work situation and a request to handle matters concerning his family’s old house, Yunxi returns to the hometown he left many years ago. He plans to stay for only ten days, settle everything, and then return to his former life. But an unexpected reunion soon disrupts that carefully arranged plan. The Qiyan Festival they once promised to attend together has long since been discontinued. The childhood friends he remembers have also grown into very different people over the years. Words left unspoken, promises never fulfilled, and the summer preserved in an old photograph without him all begin to surface once more upon his return. As the past and present meet again, you will spend this summer as Yunxi, reconnecting with old friends through everyday moments and a series of choices, gradually discovering the sides of them they have never shown before.
