Belief: A God's Burden is an exploration and combat-focused top-down open-world RPG set up in a grim and dark city with procedurally generated dungeons underneath, where the player takes the role of a powerful demigod created from their believers' faith and wish for freedom. The world of An’Dómun was once blessed with the teachings from the Reisendderi, godly entities sent to earth by M’othair Segen to guide humanity and protect the world from destruction, but for centuries, since the last time one of those graced the world, the world has fallen on the hands of an evil force: Lyharkie, a vile entity that threatens to corrupt and destroy all of civilizations from within. As the last of the Reisendderi, explore the decaying city of Nova Lúmen, a place once sacred for the Tuatha, an ancient culture that resists extinction. Help your devotees survive this harsh reality and get involved in their stories, conflicts, and mysteries. Nova Lúmen, once a capital city rich in culture and knowledge, today lies under control of the terrible Lyharkie, which had transformed each sacred location for the Tuatha in perfect nests for her spawn, between Reality and the Immaterial, you are responsible for delving deep in their shapeless and ephemeral lairs to reach and defeat Lyharkie’s seedlings to purify the many important locations for the Tuatha. As you explore dungeons and help the people of Nova Lúmen, you unlock more power to your arsenal, offering new ways to combine them to use in combat and adapt to any play style.
