After she fell in battle protecting her people, Mayinalli—a cosmic god who gathers the finest warriors killed in combat—carried her spirit to a coliseum where fighters and creatures from different eras, mythologies and realities battle for his amusement. Mayinalli offers her a bargain: defeat all his champions and she may return to her people. Fraya accepts, but in his world no promise is what it seems.
