One gun becomes one hundred. Barely Outnumbered is an incremental tower defense that starts with one modest tower and a monster problem that seems almost manageable. Every kill earns Scrap. Spend it on new towers, better upgrades, repairs, and Engineering research. More firepower means more kills. More kills mean more Scrap. Before long, that lonely gun is part of a fortress. Keep building, experiment with different upgrades, and take on crowds you couldn't handle before.The horde moves in real time. You don't have to. Once an assault begins, the horde advances without waiting for you to start each wave. Pause whenever you want. Look over the battlefield, place towers, choose upgrades, queue construction, and aim your abilities. Take your time deciding what needs fixing first. Then resume and see how your plan holds up.Build a plan, not a lucky run. Unlock six tower families, from Cannons that hit whole groups to Rail Lances that pierce through them and Tesla Coils that chain lightning between enemies. Each family has its own upgrade paths. You choose what to research and which upgrades to build into each tower, rather than waiting for the right upgrade to drop. Try different combinations. There's usually more than one way to deal with a monster problem.Keep the fortress. Raise the ceiling. When the Core finally buckles, the assault ends. Your fortress does not. Your towers, upgrades, remaining Scrap, and Engineering carry over. So do the damage and wrecks. Repair what broke, reinforce the weak spots, and return to push farther through increasingly crowded Frontiers. You don't have to rebuild everything just because your last plan wasn't quite enough.Start over. On purpose. When you're ready for a fresh start, Prestige resets your fortress and cycle progress in exchange for permanent Core Research.
