Deranged trolls. Old thinking machines. Nordic inspired animals with dark backstories. Meet them all in this hand drawn adventure where you play as a moth, born without wings, exploring a dark world in search of the kingdoms lost light.
Cliff Kingdom is a hand-dawn 2D action-platformer set in the caverns of a cliff in the middle of the sea. The kingdom is the home of trolls, the thinking machines they built, and the slaves they lured in with the lighthouse on top.
Now the lighthouse has gone dark. You play as Mothboy, the last in a long line of lightkeepers, tasked with finding the lost light, and exploring the caverns below the lighthouse.
Game features:
- A branching story, all told through worldbuilding and interactions, with no cut-scenes and hand-holding.
- A dark hand-crafted world, from the lighthouse on top to the troll capital below, all hand-drawn, inspired by old comics.
- Platforming where verticality is key. Climb on ceilings and walls. Use your light sling to propel yourself forward, and your magic lantern to light up the dark kingdom.
- Tons of characters and enemies. From the deranged trolls, and their children, the sentient insane thinking machines, to the animals that were the trolls slaves. All with dark backstories inspired by nordic folklore and mythology.
