Spirit of Diwata

Find the spirit in each other. Spirit of Diwata is a cooperative game where you heal the world instead of fighting it. Your elemental spirit instrument lets you calm frightened creatures and hear their voices. Explore an Asian fantasy universe drawn from Buddhist traditions of care and offering, with up to two friends on one screen, in the same room or across the world. Three of you set out, each carrying a different kind of family. What you build on the road is the story: the people you stop for, the ones who stay, and what you are all willing to carry for each other. It is a long journey, by road and eventually by air, and it does not end where you think it will. Heal a creature to full and then you can bond with it. Call on a bonded creature and its spirit answers where you are, healing beside you or drawing danger away. Hold your note and healing reaches everything around you; hold it alongside a friend and your notes gather into a chord. Every time you calm a creature, your party's harmony charges. Hold the harmony button together and you will cast a healing wave you couldn't reach alone. The more of you join in, the better it heals, but the more harmony it draws. The charge keeps building while you wait for the others, so no one is rushed. Your spirit instruments can only hold so many bonds, so the party's elements are whatever you have chosen between yourselves. What you carry decides what you can handle—only water can quench a fire. Match a creature's element while it is stilled and its heart opens, stopping it in its tracks. A child, a parent, a grandparent, someone who has never held a controller—everyone can join in and play right away. There are no combos to memorize, and nothing asks for split-second precision; all the while, a player looking for depth will find plenty of it. Friends drop in and out whenever, and if you arrive mid-scene, you'll watch until there's room: then you're in. Plants bear fruit and bonds deepen as you travel. Play for an hour or vanish for a month. Nothing withers while you are gone. Stand still a while and the day still turns, the clouds still roll through, and the sun still sets. Study the creatures and plants you meet to fill out your World Dex, and watch each region recover as you do. At spirit houses, brew tea for the friends beside you, burn incense for the ones you could not save, and leave food out for whoever wanders by. Entrust a creature you have grown close to at a spirit house, or station someone you have met to keep an eye on the place, and you might run into them down the road. The Inner Garden is a meditative place for your party to share, and it grows as you do. The spirits you have bonded with gather to talk, their words moving from fragments to whole sentences as they come to trust you. Arrange the keepsakes they give you, dye the furniture, and make an inner refuge for everyone you have found.
