On The Hook hakkında
《On the Hook》 is a single-player roguelike that blends prediction, betting, and ability-building mechanics, featuring a pixel-art aesthetic and a "black-and-gold" casino visual style. You play as a gambler deep in debt to the house, struggling to survive across the floors of an ever-expanding casino. You must endure 18 consecutive nights and earn enough money to cover the repayment amounts, which increase with each passing night.
Every night, the casino sees the emergence of one "hottest" high-roller table and one "coldest" shark table.
There are no fixed figures displayed at the tables themselves; the players' stakes remain concealed at the table corners, and a single hidden wager can simultaneously impact multiple tables. You must expend limited investigation action points to count cards, make deductions, activate your "third eye," or even secretly rig the game, using interconnected information to pinpoint which tables are "hot" or "cold."
Bet on a "whale" table, and you’ll walk away with a quick payout from the winner—cash you can use immediately. Bet on a "shark" table, and you’ll lend money to a gambler blinded by the urge to recoup losses, securing an IOU that grows night by night.
After the nightly settlement, you can take your remaining chips to the black market to purchase permanent ability cards and marked cards. Whether it’s boosting card-counting efficiency, raising your betting stakes, running a loan shark operation, diversifying investments, going all-in early, or directly altering the numbers on the table—every purchase shapes a unique money-making engine for the round!
