Über Viper Strike
Pure Code. Pure Performance. Pure Destruction.
Viper Strike is a classic, top-down vertically scrolling shoot-'em-up built for modern PC hardware. Developed entirely by a solo engineer with 40 years of low-level software experience, the game runs on a custom, proprietary engine written from scratch in C++ using SDL3, OpenGL, OpenAL, and Bullet Physics.
By utilizing a zero-texture rendering pipeline, Viper Strike strips away modern engine bloat to deliver flawless, hyper-responsive arcade gameplay, crisp visuals, and native multi-platform optimization.
KEY FEATURES
• Dual-Layer Tactical Combat: Engage in traditional high-speed air-to-air dogfights while simultaneously tracking ground targets on the battlefield below. Deploy precisely aimed bombs to wipe out heavy ground fortifications.
• Physics-Driven Chaos: Powered by Bullet Physics, enemies don't just disappear when destroyed. They burst into simulated physical gibs that fly through your 3D airspace, triggering massive, high-scoring chain reactions.
• True Linux Native: Built natively on Linux (developed on LMDE 6, tested on CachyOS) and natively compiled for Windows via MinGW. No bloated layers—just raw execution.
• Transparent Arcade Value: No microtransactions, no battle passes, and no background network connections required after download. Just a premium arcade experience for the price of a decent coffee.
Grab the demo the moment our 2-week Coming Soon period ends, test the engine, and prepare for the full launch this October!
