Slipstream Daydreams is a y2k inspired retrofuturistic visual novel about anti-gravity racing and messy queer romance. Follow Orion Cruz, rising star of the Anti-Gravity Racing League, as they race through the final and reminisce about their relationships with other drivers throughout their first year in the sport. Your split-second choices affect which romantic flashbacks you see! Slipstream Daydreams explores themes of anti-capitalism, the curse of celebrity, identity, and a little bit of cyberpunk hacking. Orion is living their dream of being a champion high speed anti-gravity racer. Early in their career they have disrupted the status quo of the sport that was previously dominated by larger teams with far more funding than Buoyant, a plucky newer team dedicated to bringing people from lower-income backgrounds into the sport. Outside of racing, they love dance music and DJing both at prestigious clubs and illegal raves. Will they be able to top the podium? Or will their cheap cybernetic enhancements spell disaster on the track? Capital is this generation's undisputed reigning prince of anti-gravity racing. Since his debut at 18 he has been racing with Means Conglomerate, pushed by his wealthy family to succeed in both driving and as a celebrity. He is very competent and enjoys tuning his times and working with the team, but has a detached attitude towards it - it's his life, but its still simply a job to him. He is often busy with interviews, modelling, minor acting roles, advertising gigs, and other facets of stardom. Will Orion be able to break Capital's professional shell and find out who he really is? Or is there nothing under the veneer of perfection after all? Maxime is the most controversial active racer in the Anti-Gravity Racing League. A combination of its aggressive bordering on violent driving, and many public arguments with their team management has led to much bad press. They have made it very clear they want to excise the capitalistic element from AG racing, and bring the sport back to its wilder, scrappier roots. Maxime loves cybernetic enhancements and tinkering with technology, hacking and jailbreaking hardware for their own uses. Will Maxime's obsession with Orion destroy their career?
