Über Municipal Ghosts
Drift to charge your boost. Make every corner count.
Municipal Ghosts is an arcade racing game built around Time Attack and a single-player Route Book. Drive salvaged industrial machines through mountain service roads, abandoned tram tunnels, and forgotten civic projects. Learn the routes, take on crew challenges, and turn a scrappy first attempt into a run worth chasing.
MAKE POWER IN THE CORNERS
Drifting builds charge you can spend on boost. Carry a shallow slide to preserve speed, re-kick for deeper rotation, and cut when it's time to leave the slide. After a cut, a well-timed throttle release and re-press can trigger an instant boost.
Good driving means adjusting throughout the corner. Go deeper when you need rotation or charge, then ease back before you lose too much momentum. Link your exit into the next entry and keep your boost running. Some bends are worth a long slide; others are faster on grip.
FILL YOUR ROUTE BOOK
Work through a single-player career built around the city's routes and the crews who know them best. Each crew sets a different challenge, from keeping your charge flowing to holding your line against rival racers.
Get through a route, meet its targets, then return with what you've learned. The Route Book gives you a path through the city, while every route is available in free play from the start. Your progress comes from learning the kart and the road; unlocks don't make you faster.
Races against bots put those skills under pressure. Contact can interrupt a rival's drift and charging sequence, but a mistimed hit can leave you fighting to recover your own kart.
CHASE YOUR NEXT PERSONAL BEST
Take a route into Time Attack and make it your own. Race your ghost, chase sector times, and work out where your next improvement will come from: a cleaner entry, a longer slide, or a boost saved for the climb.
Short runs let you try again while the last corner is still fresh. As familiar sections get faster, you'll find new ways to connect them. There's still time to find after you've finished the Route Book.
RACE THE CITY THEY LEFT BEHIND
The city electrified too fast. Years later, its warehouses and maintenance yards are full of obsolete motors, batteries, controllers, and fleet equipment nobody has the budget to dispose of. Local garages put the surplus back to work.
Their machines race through the leftover spaces of a functioning near-future city: rain-soaked mountain access roads above the lights, blind corridors through an expo site swallowed by bamboo, steep waterfront streets that throw you off the crest, and a last tram line that still runs down through the tunnels.
These aren't racetracks. They're places somebody still has a key to.
TAKE SOMETHING STRANGE TO THE STARTING LINE
Baggage tugs, utility carts, industrial transports, and discarded prototypes form the basis of the grid. Hacked recovery systems turn wheel slip and chassis rotation into stored charge.
Every build carries traces of its former job: old asset numbers under fresh paint, patched bodywork, exposed cooling lines, and mismatched panels. Pick a kart that looks like it has no business on a mountain road, then learn how to get it down fast.
Leave a ghost worth chasing.
