The Membrane

The jungle's Membrane has torn open, and the hordes pouring out of it don't stop coming. You begin as a loinclothed servant with nothing but flimsy bow and a rusty sword and by the end of a run, you're an unstoppable Amazon king holding the encircling trenches against everything the jungle can throw at you. Every run is a new experience. Adapt to whatever boons, weapons, and companions the run offers you. Learn the depth of the options and you'll become an expert at pivoting mid-fight, reshaping a desperate scramble into a force that clears the screen before enemies finish crawling out. Choose where your power goes. Start with the bow and a sword, then branch — stack a poison-and-pierce arrow hybrid, crack a whip through the crowd, rain fire from your archers, or fortify the trenches into a killbox and let the enemies slay themselves against your walls. Fuse arrow styles into one weapon, recruit fighters like Julio and his bolas to the line, and grow your build until the horde is the one in trouble. - Fortify the encircling trenches. Build them up: towers, traps, and defenses on the War Table so the arena fights with you. - Discover new builds: Level bow, blade, and special abilities down growing boon paths, then fuse mastered styles into hybrid weapons. Mix, respec, and stack combinations, purchase armor and equipment at the carriage store for both meta and in-run progression. - Recruit your allies. Bring companions and their abilities into the fight, each one changing how a run plays. - Climb the difficulties. Every successful run unlocks a tougher challenge. - Discover and defeat unique bosses. Every 10 waves discover a new boss that poses a unique challenge in that circular madness. - Along for the ride.
